BMS CABLE SPECIFICATIONS
The various types of cable specifications for BMS system to be used on this project are as mentioned below.
1. PERIPHERAL DEVICES:
The cable for connecting the analogue peripheral device to DDC panel should be 1.5sqmm copper cable, multi-stranded for a maximum distance of 75 meters. If the cable length is more than 75 meters 2.5sqmm copper cable, multi-stranded should be used.
All digital data points from the field or to the starter panel should be 1.5 sqmm copper cables, multi-stranded.
Kindly be noted that a minimum of 600mm distance has to be maintained between the control cables and power cables (above 24 VAC cables) and should run in separate
trunks/conduits to avoid induction voltage on the control cables from the power cables.
However if screen cables are specified in the project please use screen cables with the above mentioned sizes.
2. LON BUS:
The Lon bus cable is to run between Outstation Panel & BMS Panel in the System.
Maximum cable length is 900 mtrs.
TECHNICAL DATA: Category 5
Unscreened, twisted pair with at least 18 twists per meter
Minimum conductor cross-section 0.5
Between 2 conductors of a pair: < 46 nF/km
Pair- to- earth capacitance unbalance: < 3.3 nF/km
DC loop resistance: < 168 ohm
